In chemical industry, it is a basic ingredient for production of sorbitol, a sweetener for diabetics, and in production of citric acid. It is and excellent source of food for candida, as well as a filler and texture-enhancing agent. Addition of glucose in bear and wine production facilitates fermentation processes and affects the wine’s bouquet and its characteristics favourably. Glucose is used as a sweetness-regulating agent in beverages produced from juice concentrates and in production of instant and bubble beverages. In meat industry, it is used as an ingredient of ham marinates.
